Heat Pumps Ratings
Heat Pump Ratings - Reviews
I've read hundreds of comments, reviews and ratings of various brands of portable heat pumps and there is much
information to know about heat pumps.
If you're considering an electric portable
heat pump unit for your home rather than a stationary, in window air conditioning heat pump you will be
getting a heat pump with an air source. Ground source heat pumps mean they lay pipes in the ground and
that is very expensive. If you are looking for a cheaper, less expensive heat pump then buying a portable heat
pump is the way to go.
One interesting thing about portable heat
pumps is that if you live in parts of the country that have higher humidity, you may find more water in your heat
pump tray than you would in other geographic areas. This means you may be emptying the tray more often to avoid
water overflow and before they leak water. You shouldn't have any tank problems. But people do it all the
time. If you live in climates with less humidity you will have less water collecting in the
tray. Just something to keep in mind when you buy a portable heat pump.
These air conditioning portable heat pump
units are powerful 110 volt portable units as small as they are. They are actually relatively quiet, not real
noisy. You can get manufacturer ratings for the electrical specs, but most people don't need them.
Yet you do have to expect some noise in order
for them to work. There won't be a totally silent or quite or noiseless air conditioning unit or portable
heat pump anywhere. Expect some noise. It won't matter what brand you choose either-- Soleus, Trane, Carrier,
Amana, Goodman, etc. They all make noise. But if you want to keep cool you have to put up with some
noise. Portable heat pumps with air conditioning are actually quieter than in window AC
units.
You'll find they work hard; some have
dehumidifiers and are ice cold. They have an oscillating part. Rooms actually can be chilly depending on the size
of the room in your home, condo, apartment or garage. Many people use them in their garage.
Most portable AC units have a digital readout
in color and have good remote control. Most have wheels so you can, move it around. Some may not have
wheels or casters.
Some people report that they have run these
units all day long in 90-98 degree heat and about 50% humidity in a small room about 475 square feet and it worked
well. Got the temperature down to the 70's in a few hours. Small rooms do the best though. Keeps them
cool.
If you have central air conditioning you may
find you need a portable unit in the garage or far away bedroom.
Cost or prices for heat pump units can run
$400 to $600 or more or less depending on which AC model you pick. If you move you can take it with you, unlike the
stationary window AC or heat pump units which often cannot be removed.
These are just a few of my thoughts after reading
Heat Pump Ratings, Reviews, opinions and comments over the years. These are nice AC systems to
have in any home.

There are many units
Should you buy a portable heat pump?
Yes if you need an AC unit that you can move from room to room and want to pay less money and get it cheap or
inexpensively compared to the in window type of AC unit. Note the weight of the air conditioning unit you buy
because they can vary in weight quite a bit if that makes a difference to you. You shouldn't need to worry
about heatpump or air conditioning repair. All heat pump units have a good warranty. Make sure to check
that out before you buy so you know what you need to do if you need heat pump parts, compressors or thermostats if
they have one or if they need any repair on the AC unit.
